As a boxer, Hugh Ramp the Champ put his town on the map and raised the hopes of many.

 

However, his career was cut short due to an injury at a local factory where he worked to put his son Joey through school.

 

After a messy divorce and years on the line, Hugh retreats to the couch or wanders through the night with a shrinking circle of friends.

 

A stranger in need gives Hugh’s life a new purpose. And when Joey re-appears in town after being ejected from university, Hugh steps in to keep him from repeating a father’s mistakes.
